on the a-side there is a dance remix of both artists that really cracks, vibrates, accumulates and then explodes. the second track on this side is a remix by robag wruhme (wighnomy brothers) - dance music, cut up, broken beats, jazzy, bouncy, that turns body and soul into a steaming pot. the b-side isa specialty for those who got >orchestra of bubbles< on vinyl - the 2 tracks >rotary< and >sleepless< are otherwise only available on the cd version as bonus tracks

ellen allien and apparat, two headstrong musicians who indeed differ in their musical context but still come together not just at the peripheral rims, collaborated on an album together: >orchestra of bubbles<.by a deep plunge into the world of sound of their counterpart both are trying to find gateways in order to expand their own possibilities. while apparat used to stand for an algorithms-based aesthetics and ellen allien fathomed the possible heights and depths of the dance floor widthways as well, for their joint production they dabble in a principle which electronic music is dedicated to from the very beginning and which is now only spelled differently: contingency

eine visionŠrin, die einen sound entwickelt hat, der sich weiterhin entwickelt und in neue bereiche vorstš§t. der sich zwischen klassischen, analogen acid-gerŠuschen und der anarchischen pracht hypnotisierender und himmlischer klanglandschaften bewegt. -nost- ist das werk einer frau, die sich selbst gefunden hat, aber sich trotzdem weiterhin pusht, um aus ihrer komfortzone herauszutreten, die immer noch neues erschafft, immer noch lernt und sich immer noch nach mehr sehnt. das ist ellen allien, das ist berlin, und das ist -nost-.

als ellen im jahr 2010 von zwei choreographen und tŠnzern gebeten wurde den soundtrack zu ihrer tanzperformance drama per musica zu komponieren, hatte sie bereits einige jahre die idee ein musikstueck zu schreiben. kein konzeptioniertes album sondern eine musikalische reise, die sich fliessend veraendert und unterschiedliche stile vereint, so wie wir es auch in ihren dj-sets erleben

for organ and brass is comprised of two works by the stockholm-based composer ellen arkbro. both works focus on tuning, intonation and harmonic modulation. in previous projects, arkbro composed for early music ensembles, wrote a series of durational pieces utilising synthetic tones and processed guitars, and, most recently, presented a work lasting 26 days at the stockholm concert hall. for organ and brass looks back to arkbro’s studies in just intonation with la monte young, marian zazeela, and their disciple jung hee choi in new york, as well as with kindred spirit marc sabat in berlin.

die neue telefon tel aviv ep featured den berauschend schönen album-opener the birds in seiner originalversion und in zwei remixen, wie sie gegensätzlicher nicht sein können: bpc-chefin ellen allien pustet die schwermütigen nebelwolken des originals kurzentschlossen mit einem knackigen housebeat und munteren acid-sequenzen fort. ghostly international-mitbegründer matthew dear hat schon auf seinem eigenen album black city und seinen remixen für die chemical brothers, the xx und the drums eine ausgeprägte vorliebe für sinistre klanglandschaften offenbart. seine version von the birds bewegt sich stilistisch zwischen allen stühlen, verbindet sie doch kongenial singer/songwriter-elemente mit einem athmosphärisch dichten electronica-kontext. als co-autor, gitarrist und seelenverwandter tritt kein geringerer als cocteau twins-mitbegründer robin guthrie in erscheinung - nicht nur für düstere wintertage und kalte nächte der perfekte soundtrack.
